Archlute and guitar player Marek Kubát gained his first music experiences at the age of 10 when showed his interest in playing guitar as a self-taught musician. Later he studied guitar at the Tišnov Art School with Miroslav Ševčík, and continued privately with the professor of Pardubice Conservatory, Stanislav Juřica. He gained his knowledge of jazz guitar and harmony through lessons with jazzman Vilém Spilka. Marek learned to play lute at the Academy of Early Music in Brno in the lute class of Miloslav Študent. He also attended masterclasses with Paul Beier and Michael Fields. Marek has been cooperating with various bands such as folk-oriented Malevil, jazz-rock group Ha-Kapela, jazz group Mañana, world music Czaldy-Waldy Quartet, and many others.

Apart of chamber music projects he regularly performs with variety of baroque ensembles, e.g. Capella Ornamentata, Concerto Aventino, Ensemble Damian, Hof-Musici, Musica Figuralis, Silva Rerum Arte (PL), Societas Incognitorum. In addition to baroque music performance, he cooperates often with contemporary composers as Tomáš Hanzlík, Dada Klementová, Matěj Kroupa, Katarzyna Szved, Emil Wojtacki or Vít Zouhar. As a lute player he participates in baroque music projects of Polish Baltic Philharmonic.

Marek Kubát teaches music at the Tišnov Art School. He cooperates with the Studio of Musical Performance at the Theatre Faculty of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. He is the artistic leader and musical arranger of the jazz group Undistortion.
